Hannah Dooley

Piano Teacher

Hi! My name is Hannah Dooley and I absolutely adore music. All music has always been a huge part and influence in my life. I grew up listening to everything from U2, AC/DC, and Johnny Cash, to the works of Debussy, fugues of Bach, and symphonies of Holst. I love all genres, and am always up for anything new I can get my hands on. I've tried out a couple of different instruments in the past, but nothing has hold of my heart like the piano.

Around the time I was six years old, my mom had had enough of me pounding nonsense on the keys of our old piano and enrolled me in piano lessons and I've been hooked ever since. I've played piano for over 13 years now, and have dabbled in organ performance for the past few years as well. Unfortunately, my high school did not offer any performance or class opportunities to me, but I spent countless hours outside of class and extracurriculars learning everything I could as well as playing and performing. I've also taught piano lessons for 2 years now, and I love seeing the light that music brings into kids' lives.

I was born and raised in Brigham city Utah and attended Box Elder High School. When I graduated, I decided I needed a change of venue and decided to come down to SUU to study exercise science and music. I am currently still attending SUU and am working on my Bachelor's degree. Music is my escape from the world, and I truly believe it can help in every aspect of life. I love watching people realize what an outlet it can be, helping them to learn, grow, and even heal. Music is a universal language. It's something everyone can understand and appreciate, and I love the opportunity of being able to show it to others.
